Default Driveshaft removal

Trying to remove my driveshaft on my 69 with a c4 auto. I have removed the u bolts from the rear end side u joint however when I go to pull the yoke side from the tranny, it gets about half way and will suck back into the transmission. Car has been sitting for about 15 years. Am I missing something or do I need to pull harder?

I've got a better idea....remove any rev limiter, and drive 135MPH....sorry, couldn't resist... you probably hanging up on a vacuum line or emergency brake cable.. Should slide right out.

I'm not sure if anyone will know what you are talking about, but I sure do. I thought it was funny.
