Default PCV Valves ????

I have a quick question...

Basically my motor is a roller cam 302, with Holley 600, built to 1985 GT Mustang specs...

Do I need to have a PCV Valve? What are the Pro's / Con's?

Thanks,

Well, if you don't use a PCV, oxides and sludge will build up faster inside the engine, and of course the vapor still has to come out somewhere, so the oily vapor will deposit itself on the outside of the engine, making a mess. Your choice.

ya, you'll end up with a lot of mess around the breathers etc. I wouldn't run an engine long term without it (means eventually I'd always add a PCV)

one thing I have thought about doing is making an oil catch can for the pcv system. That way all the gunk still gets sucked out, but it doesn't go into the intake and make a mess of it.

i can show you my intake. no mess there. it's washed down and burnt.
Its only when it comes out of the breathers it deposits itself on the rocker covers and stays there

mine isn't too bad either, but I do get a little bit of buildup in the runners. I just think a catch-can setup would look cool
