When you start getting into those really low profile tires, be aware that they are very prone to rim damage if you drive in an area with alot of potholes. I know of a couple of guys that went the low profile 35/40 route and ended up damaging rims when they hit a pothole.

True, but not many options exist for higher profiles in those widths.

The large wide rims look great but I'm just saying they can also very expensive to replace. Some areas are probably alot better about street maintenance but I know around Dallas, the streets are a mess and its almost impossible to avoid potholes especially when it is raining.

I'm not too worried about it. I really only drive it about twice a month tops. I don't drive the car if it's raining.

The main reason I want to do this is because eventually I'm gonna build the power to somewhere around 500hp and I want a solid contact patch on the rear. These plans are a ways away though, As I haven't even started taking apart and cleaning my donor engine yet.

I also really need to replace all of my tires. They're old and dry-rotted and since my tax returns are coming in, I figured I'd go ahead and just get a whole rim/tire setup since the wheels on there are from the 80s.
