The single post all by its self opposite the side of the 3 others wires (on top in picture above) is the stator post.. Its 100% possible that its not utilized in your system. mine is not used either neither is BA's and that's as far as i know normal and fine.

Problem solved! It was the Voltage Regulator! At first it showed 14.1v running then after a few minutes it settled at 13.2v. So i will just buy another one and replace it!

Why are there 4 pins on the regulator, and only 3 spade fittings on the plug? I think its the Field that is not there?

field better be there. Its probaly the top one thats blank... (I) Ignition I think. It would be used to run a charge indicator light if your car was so equipped.

Depending on the age and condition of your battery, you could have 12V at the battery and a properly functioning charging system.

A weak battery might absorb a portion of the current your alternator produces, but to no benefit or increase in voltage.

Judging by your voltage reading of 14.2 Volts at first, and 13.2 V after running, I don't think your regulator will be bad unless you are experiencing other symptoms.

I would be more suspect of poor cables/wires/terminals/connections than of the regulator.

Without reading the article, so what I say may or may not apply here, but SOME tech articles are informative and helpful, and at the same time they might needlessly cause us to chase our own tail....
