Default spray paint questions

I have a few spray paint questions.

1. Best primer brand/product
2. Best top coat type for floor pans inside/out
3. Best spray rubberized for wheel well and under.
4. How are Welding primers? Does it effect the weld at all?

I am getting close and I bet I will need to purchase online.

Get a self etcing primer, usually a flat mustard green color, Oreillys carrys the one I like
stick with the same brand for the top coat, although I hear good things about appliance epoxy
I tried using weld through primers and didn't like it as much as burning the self etching a bit. I even tried the expensive stuff from a professional paint shop and wasn't impressed.

I like Krylon - quick drying pretty tough espcially if spraying rubberized coating over it

2. Best top coat type for floor pans inside/out
Kyrlon outdoor would be fine. Can also use truck bed lining

3. Best spray rubberized for wheel well and under.
Truck bed lining. That what I did my 70 with and held up fine.

I use it and at first did not like. I'm okay wiht it now - just want to get welds a little hotter when using and you will be fine

Should be able to gt all this at a local autoparts and hardware store.

I have a love hate thing with weld threw primer.
I find I blow through metal easier with it on. A guy I know who welds for a living says your better off with just clean metal and bump in primer in the seams when done. I think he is on to something and he calls weld threw primer a sales gimmick.

I used POR15 on everything followed by Epoxy Bed Liner instead of undercoating. Anyplace that we welded or anyplace I couldn't get the POR I used body wax.

Same stuff they use on new cars. Gun kit comes with a hose that allows you to get down the rockers, subframe etc. This stuff wen't everywhere, made a mess on the garage floor when it was running out the drain holes.

IMO, there is no such thing as "professional spray paint", or real epoxy that is not a two part process....
