You should be able to use a 1" with no problem. Always check first, though.

My Edelbrock used a larger size thread than the stock manifold, so my original connector did not work. I used a common 90º threaded elbow and tig welded a dip tube on the end of it. You could use the BOSS 302 unit, but they are like $40!

My intake came with fittings in the box and there was an adapter that fitted the hole which the original fitting fits.
