Default dynacorn torque box.

This has some gaps at the top and bottom of the two pieces fitting together.
Should I put it together outside the car then install or install the bottom part then work to fit the top.

The suck part is there is packing tape all over this thing and it's not coming off well. I will need to use goo off for 30 minutes on it. What's with this crap packing?

Here is what I did on my 65, your car already had them so I am guessing it applies?

You will want to install the box in two separate pieces.

Clean and prime the new parts inside with a good primer or paint. (Not a can primer)

Then trial fit the top section so you can see where to drill holes for the rosette welds. Then, make sure to clean the areas that get welded and coat them with weld through primer.

I installed them on my 65, so I had to slice the toe board where it hits the kick panel area so the lip could fit between them. I then welded the top in place, then I pushed the bent part into place to weld the two halves back together and then added the gusset.

Works much better if you install one piece at a time. As for the tape, who packed it?

Mine were from CJ, and they were also covered in that fiber packing tape, big mess but lacquer thinner took care of it.

It was sent from Dynacorn drop ship. You may know the other thread where I talked about bad customer service. THis is a long frustrating story.

I love the two piece unit and it has the tunnel for the ebrake.

The crap part is that the toe board doesn't

Coupe, you have way more toe board than I do. I also did damage that I had to repart the kick plate (board) with new metal.

I didn't even think about welding from the base to the upper, I was going to do the other way. That would have been tough as I have pedals and all in place. Great idea because I can mold up the remaining few inches of the existing firewall in place. This will allow me to push into that.

Also, I will have that small gap you get right in the upper left corner of the drivers side torque box as my piece is missing a little of the tab area from the apron.

Also, I am not going to cut the Dynacorn so the welded lip is on the inside like the original, this is not a concourse.
