Default Shelby Hood on 67 and 68 GT

I am trying to find out if a 67 Shelby Repo hood and 68 Shelby Repo hood will fit on my 67 and 68 GTs. The price is about $500.00 a hood and don't want to buy if its a no go. Please help.

The 67 Shelby hood is longer than a standard 67 hood, and there are special headlight buckets that go with it, to match up. The 68 Hood is a similar (possibly same) length, but it requires the matching Shelby front grille surround to match up properly.

There are companies that make 67 and 68 Shelby Style hoods that will go on a standard Mustang front end. They'll have the appropriately shaped scoops, but the front of the hood is made to match the stock front end. They end up looking a little 'off' compared to the genuine article, but at least they fit.

A 67 Shelby hood is longer, but a 68 Shelby hood is shorter, the distance is made up in the filler piece on the nose of the 68.

IMHO, and I've seen both, and while the 67 version looks pretty good, the 68 version lacks the filler panel at the front of the Shelby, and looks hacked off.

Im pretty sure they make the 67 and 68 shelby style hoods that fit the standard front end.
