spark plugs

i have a 70 with the 302. checker shows a peanut plug for my year but what i have now are the big plugs. when did they switch to the peanut plug for the 302.

just want to know if any one has a 70 that takes the peanut plugs in a 302. tyring to figure if i might have early model heads off a 289.
