has anyone ever gone the spray painting route on their car? There is real car paint spray paint so dont think im crazy....

anyways..my friends friend apparently painted his 65' for truck using the car paint spray paint....now my friend wants him to paint his mustang? is this a good route or a bad idea, even if the guy knows what hes doing, will the paint job even last or look like a real paint job?

NO it would be pretty bad. That paint is for like touch up. http://www.ppgcarpaint.com/index.php
you need some paint you can spray with a compressor and air gun. It is not an easy process you must make a dust free enviroment. Nualln will be in here to speak soon. He knows a good bit about paint.

The problem isnt really the paint that comes in spray cans, its the nozzle. You really need an even spray for it to look good.

On top of that, most paint systems are basecoat/clearcoat. They need to be matched to work together.

Spray painting is good for engine parts, just please dont spray paint your car.

The problem with rattle cans is that the paint dries to quick. I have painted a Harley with rattlecans and it turned out great, but the parts were small. Car parts are so large that the paint will start drying and it will streak and look funny.
