289's really arent that loud at idle, but when the rpm's pick up, they rock'n'roll.

I do have an exhaust leak! thats it im fixing it this weekend. One manifold taps and the other is missing a bolt.

but, your glass packs should still be loud. and your right. I say my 289 sounds like a 6 banger, when i hear it idleing.

But in all seriousness...what do they look like? Glasspacks look like straight cylinders, while regular flows or chamber mufflers look like ovals.

Ohh yeah my manifold was never cracked! it was the thermostat housing. But i still need a carburetor

lol, yeah, that hole looks ugly, but maybe you you put a radio in it, it'd cover all that up.
