do I need a new alternator?

Which incidentally is a big contributor to EFI related issues, usually random interference type symptoms.

And I'd get a 140A alternator if you plan on adding more electrical load, at the very least it would last longer. 1 or 3 wire will provide power just the same, each has it's advantages, either is fine.

checked all grounds, replaced dimmer, found the fix, new light switch
