exhaust questions
Im thinking about buying a 65/66 shelby exhaust kit. They come out in front of the rear wheels. If i do that, i dont think i have to replace my rear brake hose. For $159 it comes with the intermedate pipes, tail pipes, and glass pack mufflers. BUT i do not know if it comes with the hanger kit.
if it's a daily driver, have the exhaust go straight out the back...
or you'll be drowning in fumes in stop & go driving
i had side exits on a 454 suburban and it was bad...but maybe your car smells better than mine

For what it's worth, here's my two cents. . . .
I installed my Hooker Competition headers myself (they're coated and I knew I'd worry more about scratches and etc. putting them on). The local Midas Muffler Shop did the rest. I went with the H-pipe. Unfortunately, I had to rely on things that I'd read since no one in my area had both so I could hear the difference. Everything I'd read said that the H-pipe gave a more "muscle car" sound. I had Flowmaster 40 Series mufflers and stainless tips run out the back (but not through the rear valance). I had 2 1/2" pipe to the mufflers and 2" from there back. While mandrel bent is no doubt better, no one in my area had this means so my pipe was bent the "other" way.
All that said, I get TONS of compliments from mustang guys and bowtie enthusiests on the sound my car has. It's the perfect combination of muscle and subtleness.

Some states will not let the exhaust exit in front of the tire.

i dont care, if i get pulled over about it. Ill just tell the cop i cant hear what he's saying over the exhaust.
