Took the rolling shell over to the chassis specialist. He's going to put the body on a rotiserrie and square everything up then weld in torque boxes, one piece seat pan (moved rearward as much as possible - at least 2 inches), inner rocker panel braces used in convertibles and Tinman subframe connectors. Should be done by the end of the month.

After this - it gets a roll bar for the interior - however, I'd still like to be able to use the rear fold down seat for the kids. Anyone built a quality roll bar setup that still allows use of the fold down rear seat area?

Well the chassis guy said he ordered two new frame extensions as the old ones looked like someone had beat on them with a hammer. A big hammer. They were toast.

Anyone ever see up close a roll bar setup that allows the folddown rear seat as well ?

Good luck on car.

Never seen a roll bar that allow rear seat to fold.

Most car's I've seen with roll bar don't have rear seat.

Well, the shock tower on the driver's side had been welded by someone previous to me getting my '66 fastback. The repair was not done too well and cracked sometime thereafter. At least the car is a roller right now so I brought the trailer to the garage and rolled the Mustang into it. Tack welded some braces in place, put the chassis on stands and supported the radiator core support. Dropped the upper/lower control arm, spindle & front strut as one whole package, took prodigious measurements then got after the spot welds...broke out the sawsall and trimmed away the major pieces so that I could easily get to the spot welds with my seam buster tool. That thing is awesome.
