Found a 289 hipo out of a 65-67. According to casting numbers on the block it's from a K code mustang. Haven't checked if the heads are the right ones but it does have roller rockers, holly 650 not original, edelbrock performer, and electronic distributor. Just wondering what it might be worth or if it's worth puting in the car.

I ordered my K car in August, 1964, with High Performance Package. It took 5 weeks to get it, Color Vintage Burgundy, 2 door coupe. The engine featured screwed-in rocker studs instead of pressed-in, solid valve lifters, no PCV valve (draft tube instead), Top Loader 4-speed, 9-inch rear axle, 3.89 gears, 5-lug wheels. It did NOT have roller rockers.
Serial Number 5F07K284486. Purchase Price, $3148.

I checked the heads last night and they are not the right ones for the motor. So the top has been redone. I will have to take the oil pan off tonight to see if it has the proper counter weight on the crank.

Look at the front crankshaft pulley/vibration damper. HiPos had a wider damper, approximately 1-1/4-inch wide, maybe more.
