Default 1965 automatic start up issues

Hi all, I’m having some issues getting my car to keep running once it’s started. I’ve had two issues:
1. It would start and I’d let it warm up for 2 or so minutes then once I shifted into a gear, it would die. Sometimes immediately as soon as I shifted into gear, other times it would go 10 feet into the street and die.

2. Very recently, It will start, but then die immediately.

I have replaced the solenoid, battery, battery cables, and terminals. I’m not great at this car stuff, but really would like to get this car to be able to start and run reliably so it’s not just decoration parked on the street. Any ideas where I should start?

Thanks

when did it last run right?
what has changed since then?
What is the Idle RPM before shifting into gear...is it very low
If the RPM seems lower than normal at idle when did it seem right?

This is probably a fuel issue...as in the fuel its self or the delivery method (carburetor) or a fuel issue secondary to vacuum leak.

Seab,

If you're still interested and/or in need of resolving this. Can you tell us a little about your car. In particular, what kind of carburetor are you running, and, is this a cold start thing or all the time, even when warm?
