66 Mustang Seats
I am starting to re-do the interior of my car. I have stock seats and wanted to upgrade them to pony seats. Do the pony seat and the stock seat sit on the same frame or do I need to change the seat frame/back to upgrade them

Be sure you sand off any rust on the seat frame and repaint it before recovering them. Get some good hog nose pliers. My hand went numb a few times getting those dang hog nose rings clamped down. It's not a difficult job as such, just take your time and make sure everything is lined up right before clamping down on those pliers.

RE: 66 Mustang Seats
Hi,
I am not trying to disagree with everyone. This is what I read. According to the "Mustang Restoration Handbook" page 146 under seat variations. Quote-"If your mustang came equipped with a standard interior you cannot simply install a Pony interior. The poly-foam and subframe are different. If you want a Pony interior in your car, you'll have to buy Pony seats."

Take some measurements of the bolt hole location on your floor pan. Then check with any Mustang supplier to get the dimensions for a "Pony" seat frame. I doubt very seriously if there is any difference. The rest of the seat can be built with aftermarket pony foam and covers.
