Coolant leaking from hose out of firewall
This is a 69 with a 351W.
First I started noticing a faint smell of antifreeze when I was driving, then I noticed small puddles of coolant on the garage floor.
The culprit appears to be a hose popping out of the firewall on the passenger side which I assume goes to the heater core. But I had the vehicle stripped down to bare metal just last year to repair rust spots throughout and there was a fair amount of rust on the passenger side floorboards due to a leaky heater core so we replaced that whole unit and all the gaskets/fittings etc. so it would be strange if it had failed again in just a few months...plus the air works fine, heat blows hot, AC blows cold and no coolant fog or smell inside while driving and also no leaking on passenger side. So what the heck is the deal with this random hose not attached to anything that's messing up my floor? Is it supposed to go somewhere else?
