Default 67 Overheating?

Ive built and getting ready to install a 351W in my 67 coupe but I heard they have heating problems when doing this? Should it be a problem even light driving, or is that when you really get on it good. Would something simple like an aluminum radiator help compensate, or perhaps a CAI?

Just take it one step at a time. Make sure the rad is clean. An aluminum one will help in most racing situations, but not necessary in normal driving conditions. Either a 3 or 4 row will suffice. The fan blade should be a clutch type with at least 5 blades. If you are still overheating, then adding a shroud and an overflow tank should do the trick. Adding some water wetter will also help. The thermostat should be a 180-190. The water pump could be an aluminum one to help dissipate the heat better, but not necessary. The pressure cap should be a 13-16 pounder and sealing properly. Make sure there are no air bubbles in the system. You can check that by "burping" the system. Depending on where you live, the water-anti-freeze mixture should contain as much water as possible. A 50-50 mixture is normal, but not in all climactic conditions. Warmer climates can use less anti-freeze.
