Yeah, i am also thinking about the 3.25 gears. I believe they would be perfect for our cars.

To each his own.. If your driving highway allot, then go with 3:25 or 3:00 gears.. I myself like the light to light responce with 3:55's.. Below is a compairson of 3:25's and 3:55's at 60, 65 and 70 mph. The tire size used for this was 225 / 45 - 17

60 MPH
3:25 = 2579 RPM
3:55 = 2817 RPM

65 MPH
3:25 = 2795 RPM
3:55 = 3050 RPM

70 MPH
3:25 = 3010
3:55 = 3287

Just an FYI, if your going to go through all that work, go with a set of 3:55's. I just did mine and its fine on the highway as long as you keep it at 55 - 65 you're good.
Ok, Im sorry, but 55-65 on the highway is grandma speeds. IT'S A MUSTANG. I wouldn't do anything to it, that would cause that. I like to cruise the highway around 75-85.

Hey what kind of tranny was used to get those numbers? I have a C-4 in mine. I figured their would be more of a difference in rpm then that. Thanks for the posts guys this is really helpful.

it looks like the 3.25 is the most balanced choice.

Well guys I've pretty much decided on 3.25's for the simple reason that I have a 20 minute ride back and forth to college everyday and that they will give me enough pep to satisfy me for now. Thanks for all of the replys. I appreciate all of the help!!!!!!!!!!!![sm=hail.gif]

sorry for the retarded question but i haven't had a daily driver car in a couple years. what is a "comfortable" rpm range to be running on the highway? i'm with you guys, i like the 75-85 mph range for highway speeds. sorry for the question but im used to my diesel powered f-250 and she doesnt like going much over 2200 rpm.
thanks,
carl

Any tranny that is not an overdrive has a 1:1 final drive...
