OH MY GOSH !!!!! Partner, if you pull this one off ..... you've really done something ! I can't believe that someone would even attempt such a huge reconstruction effort. I'll be glad to look for a better body here in the south if you like. It would certainly save you a lot of work and some coin too. However, if you're one of those guys that just can't back away from a good fight I'd say you've certainly found one. What you are undertaking is a feat usually set aside for and shunned by professionals with decades of experience. Be sure and X-brace what's left of the body as soon as possible. It definitely moved when you cut everything out and it will move again when you start welding. If you aren't very , VERY careful you'll be damned lucky to get the doors to close. I hate to say it but I have sent much better cars to the crusher in the last 25 years. My hat's off to you and best of luck on your endeavor. I wish you all the luck in the world, Dean
ill cross brace it if i dont get the new rails in tonight. hopefully they will get in though.
RSRXION,
thanks for the offer, but im too far into this car to give up now. my next one, a convertible (maybe my brother will be able to fit in a car with no roof
the big bastard), will definately be brought up here from the south.

holy fu**in moses......keep us updated......daily pictures or something...hourly pictures...im going to watch this one very closely......
to be completely honest, id say you have a better chance of making the car from scratch than using whats left......keep truckin though, i really want you to get this all redone.
EXCELLENT!!!

I am also planning on replacing much of the sheet metal and repairing the frame rails on my 68. I am concerned about keeping the body in line while I do it. Does anybody know of a good book or other resource that would help with this type of major restoration job?
