I still have the original scissor jack that came with my 65. It sits on a shelf, taking up space, and I will never use it again. Yeah, I know it may be worth more than the original price, but it is no longer a use to me. I don't plan to show my mustang as a concours car with the original scissor jack in the trunk displayed as it was originally. So, what is the use of keeping it? I don't have that answer, so I guess it will just sit on that shelf, taking up space. Maybe now you have a better picture of where I am coming from. These old Mustangs were meant to be driven, and every part used for that purpose should be used for that purpose. If you can use or sell disfunct and inoperative smog parts, then you should do that. If they are simply taking up space on a shelf, and you have no future plans for them, then I guess you are in the same boat as me. They will continue to sit on the shelf with no future plans for disposing of them, and our sons will inherit them thinking......"What the hell is that?"
I have the original jack, the big handle thing, spare tire, and all the little hardware. I keep it in it's place, even though the tire goes flat, and im not sure how well the jack would work.
