blue box balast resistor?/breaks
sorry i know its a fairlane but i have a question.
on the balast resistor on my ignition broke and i can't remember what the ohmage was i think ti was 1.5 ohm but can't remember does any one know. its just a ford blue box set up that i retro fited the car with.
2 my master cylinder when out and i was thinking about putting power breaks on it does any one know a good place for me to start looking for a kit or if i can use just oem style parts.

The mustangs run a resistor wire not a balast resistor. I think fairlanes are the same. I hope that you are not using the resistor wire to feed the balast resistor. That would double up on the resistance and cut way down on the voltage feeding the ignition. If you are running a modern ignition in the car you can get away with running without the resistor. A straight 12V will maximize the spark going to the plugs. I really don't know what the ohm value of those things is. I have run Chevy type balast resistors on mustangs that have burned up the resistor wire.
As for the bower brakes, I just did my 67 and was not happy with the booster that I used from metro muscle cars. I did find a good web site that has a lot disc brake/ power brake conversions. The only thing I have ordered from them is proportioning vlave but them seem really good and their prices are good. I'll post up the link when I get home. I can't seem to find the site at work.

found it! Take a look at these guys. http://www.mpbrakes.com/index.htm
i did away with the resistor wire when i first set it up i didn't want to cut in the the facory wiring so when i did the ignition and alt. i did all seperate wiring its not th prettiest thing in the world but if some one wants to make the car all original agian they can.
btw thanks for the link.
