Yeah drain ALL the fluids, including the block jackets. There should be small drain plugs on the block. I dont like to pull both engine and trans, but some people do. If you plug the tailshaft housing it wont leak as much, pulling them together. Go slowly and make sure there isnt anything still attached, like wires or ground straps.

Whatever you do, DONT go under the engine at any time that its in the air.

Make sure your engine hoist is rated to lift both the engine and tranny if that is what you are doing. Have somebody help you. You only have two hands, and sometimes it takes three or four.

yeah more people is a good idea. it took me an hour and a half to remove the inline 6 and c4 together. this did not include unhooking all of the wiring and mounts etc.

Oh and when you are ready to take the engine out, make sure the car is off the jackstands. [sm=headbang.gif] Me and my friend couldnt figure out how to get the engine and tranny out the rest of the way because of the angle we had it at. Then my dad comes out and says "why dont you just take the car off the jackstands?" We did and it came out easy. We could be qualified as mentally retarded after that one. [sm=icon_beat.gif]
