hi i have an 89 convertible
i can hear the relays clicking when i hit the top switch but dosent make top motor work. however top motor turns when i hook it direct to a power source like a portable jumper and touch the ground. the top still didnt move because i think i touched the power to the red and maybe thats the up wire and my top was closed. the yellow is harder to get to but i should try. anyway what could be the reason its not working when i hit the switch. is the switch bad?

 

I'd put another relay in it, what you hear is the contact arm being pulled in but that doesn,t mean the contact tips are good. Good luck.
