Convertible help
When I purchased the car I was told the motor needed to be hooked up. I tried searching the issue and came up with nothing. When you move the top lever, I can hear the motor operating, but the top does nothing. If anyone can lend a hand that would be great!

any number of things could be wrong, the first thing you need to do is make sure you're releasing the top latches, not trying to offend you but I've helped people with that before, they're the two latches on the left and right front of the top in the interior.
clear out your trunk and pull out your carpet and look/feel around for any fluid, the motor is hidden behind the "bag" that the top sits in when its down. It sounds like your pump is going but not moving any fluid. This could be leaking fluid, no fluid, blown actuators, blown motor, or just a stuck top.
Check your trunk and manually lift up on the roof (don't force it, it should move some) and make sure its trying, if you can lift slightly on the top while someone hits the switch and the top moves then.
somethings worn out with the struts or the motors weak, look for fluid is the most likely culprit is the motor is empty and pushing air, fluid can also leak from the struts which are behind the rear interior panels, but if its leaking there its most likely made it into the rear floor boards.
