another different approach is armorall the same as you use for your dash just spray it on and let it dry dont wipe it off they get shiny and black and it lasts longer than the turtle wax save your money and just use the same thing you use for interior.

dont use armorall interior junk for ANYTHING, not even your interior. it sucks, and attracts dust.

black magic tire stuff SUCKS *****. impossible to get evenly on your tire, doesnt shine well, looks like crap, spins off MAJOR onto your car, and wears off after you drive once. it does get you high as a kite though

ive used turtlewax tire dressing. good stuff, but too similar to black magic, sprays off on your car pretty badly.

meguiars hotshine worked amazing for me (i know i said it already). its also cool how its in a can, easier to use. smells like bananas. give it a try.

I'm an oldster and back in 60's and early 70's we used floor wax like mop & glow but if you use it too much it builds up and gets small cracks in the shiny finish.

I use Meguires Hotshine as well. I love the stuff. Anything Silicone based while stay on longer. But Please, DON"T use ArmorAll on your tires. I used to work for GOODYEAR as an Asst. Store Manager and years before that at a local tire shop. Armor All looks good but it will dull the original black of your tires after repeated use making them look a dingy brown and also cause premature dry rotting. As far as interiors it has been known to cause older dashes to become dry and brittle because it is alcohol based but I have had no problems with interiors.

Do you guys put a heavy shine, glossy look on your tires? I've always like the smooth, matte look of the tires when they are clean, like when you buy them. Anyone else like to go the non-glossy look?? If so, how do you get it?

I use Meg's HOT Shine Tire Spray in the aerosol can. Here is a picture of my trucks tires with it.

I just like to clean em good with westley's bleach white and the leave em alone. I used to use the meg's hotshine but I would get dust build up and have gunk on my tires thats a beeyotch to get off without bleach white. Never fails when I spray the shine on the tires, the next time I wash I have to run to Wally World and get more bleach white. So I dont use it unless I'm going to a cruise or a meet. I may try the floor wax route tho just to see.

I like the less glossy look myself. That crazy sparkly shine on a tire makes me laugh. No really, I actually laugh out loud.
I use Meguiars hot shine sprayed onto a tire applicator. That way I can use less dressing, and if you want it more matte, just rub the applicator around the tire after the initial coat but don't put any spray on it. Sometimes I can wash the car and not put anything on the tires because the hot shine doesn't leave a residue and they don't look dry like they need anything.
I am also from the "no Armour all, or black magic...ever" school, not even on my daily driver. Plus, they taste funny!
Later.

If you like the low-gloss, deep black look (though anything varies from tire-to-tire), try Mothers Reflections Tire Care... the best low-gloss stuff I've used.
