How can I test or find out if I still have wax on my paint? I want to change a different brand wax. Thanks

 

If you have wax already on there and you want to put another brand you really don't have to take off the previous coat. How long has the coat of wax been on the car? Does it still bead when there is water on it? I would use a polish or cleaner wax to remove the previous coat. That will make the color look so much better than just adding more wax. 90% of how the car looks is in the prep work....all the steps before waxing. Ex: claying,polishing/swirl removers and glazes.

 

Spray the hose on the area in question. If it beads up, then your ok. If it doesn't, than the wax layer is proably wearing thin. Polish and re-apply a new coat assuming your paint is in good condition.
