they still turn on and off with the switch like normal. they turn off automatically when the car turns off too.

even if you dont have a vert, the harness will still be there for it. i tapped into the hot wire when the key is on in the vert harness. works great for me, no troubles yet.

I looked at wiring diagram for the fog lights, and the switch runs to a relay somewhere else in the car. Basically, the switch itself is drawing very little current, so it shouldn't be a problem to splice into the power supply for my cd player. It shouldn't overload anything.
