Default windsheild help

theres still little specs of shoe polish on my windsheild from the dealer writing and track numbers that i cant get off that have been on there for months[:@][:@][:@] i tried windex cuz it has ammonia and it got more off than anything else...clay doesnt phase it, nor does quick detailer or straight windsheild washer fluid...dont want to put a razor blade on it...cuz well i just dont plus theres too much for it, its scattered

can i use meg's 3 step on my windsheild to take it off? im thinking step 1 might take it off...but also, i want to kind of "fill in" some of the tiny chips from the freeway...

so...
1) what will get the shoe polish off?
2) can i 3 step my windsheild? (im afraid of a haze forming)
3) where can i find blank news paper?
4) i dont really want to buy any glass cleaner [&o]
5) thanks guys

I don't know what the meg's 3 step is, but have you tried a pressure washer? maybe with some simple green?

I don't understand your aversion to a razor blade knife. Its fast, and you will have done a better job removing the material. Its simply steel on glass, and glass wins every time (its not going to scratch). for the time it has taken you to ask these questions and invest in all sorts of chemical, you could have completed the job.

can i use meg's 3 step on my windsheild to take it off? im thinking step 1 might take it off...but also, i want to kind of "fill in" some of the tiny chips from the freeway...
I would be suspect of any other chemicals taking something off when what you have done hasn't taken it off so far.Meguiars 3 step I don't use, but it sounds like a treatment that includes a compound for buffing out scratches on painted body surfaces. That's not something that you would translate into using on glass....if is abrasive then you will wind-up scratching glass
so...
(1) what will get the shoe polish off?
razor blade knife
2) can i 3 step my windsheild? (im afraid of a haze forming)
I wouldn't see note above
3) where can i find blank news paper?
you can find blank at the newspaper's print shop, they often dump paper that is out of spec. but you need not use blank. regular paper works fine and leaves no residue or ink. regular newspaper and ammonia type cleaner works very well for all my glass cleaning needs.
4) i dont really want to buy any glass cleaner [&o]
well you're not going to knife it and you're not going to use glass cleaner, then if the windshield is really that bad ("fill in" some of the tiny chips from the freeway???"), buying a new windshield will be your best fix.
5) thanks guys
you probably aren't thanking me. I've made several arguments against your plans.

i used to detail cars at a body shop, i can tell you the #1 thing to get your windows SHINY AS ALL HELL, you know those steel wool pads with the soap in them used for washing dishes?? get one with no soap in it, make sure you have a pressure washer near by or a compressor with a fitting to blow the little pieces of metal off. its what we used to get over spray off the windows, and let me tell ya, it gets your windows SHOW SHINY. trust me. make sure its the "fine" type of steel wool used for dishes. try it out let me know
