first off im not a painter but one of my best friends is (www.howlincustomcycles.com check out there paint department )
any way the mineral gray is gonna be hard to match to begin with any and metalics are not something you want to start off learing how to paint with they are really easy to screw up but if you insist ondoing this here is what your gonna need.compressor you already have that good a good paint gun $150not the best by far but will do the job, paint a pint will do a bumper with plenty left over for when you have to reshoot it thats gonna be about $50, clear your gonna have to get a half gallon atleast becaust well they don't sell that buy the pint $100, reducer, thinner, and activator $75,tape and all that good **** atleast $25. since its already primed your good just wipe it down withoil andwax remover and your good to go. oh yeah your shooting this in your drive way that means itsgonna need wetsanded and buffed to get thetrash out (and yes it will have bugs and trash when your done) thats a good high speed buffer and two padsand two bottles of buffing compound a course and fine. i don't know abuot the buffer buti knwo the compound is $30 a bottle.
lets see 150+50+100+75+25+60 thats $460 plus the buffer. oh yeah its gonna look like crapwhen your done and then your gonna spend the 200 or 300 a body shop would charge you on top of what you wasted. so why not save the money and go to a body shop?

Man - where do all you guys live? I had a minor door ding (tiny) and pretty much a respray and that was $513. That was the cheapest I found besides the Earl Scheib's and Maaco's crap. Denver body guys want too much money I guess. They wanted $700 to paint and mount a CDC chin spoiler. So when I bought the shelby gt500 spoiler and he offered to paint it I told him I think I'll just keep it black.

i live in Arkansas so labor is dirt cheap just paint a bumper would still run you a min of 250. 300 to 350 would be about average but like i said try buying the tool and and paint for that and see what you come up with like i said the tools arn't cheap my friends main gunn would runn you 6 or 7 hundred. but you can get away with a cheap gun if you know what you are doing and how to follow up and sand and buff "thats gonna have to be done on a open air job.

The one thing no one mentioned is because it is the bumper, the primer, paint, clear coat have to have a "flex agent".

Don't mess with it. In the end, you will save yourself the frustration and the $.

Bottom line--"Get er Done.
