overspray
[:@]I have an 05 Mustang GT Satin Silver, recently in a fender bender ( very minor I may add) anyways, I went to see a guy I know at a body shop for repairs, Lf fender, bumper cover, and I bought the Cervini concept ram air hood, I am very dissatisfied with the paint job, I think Steevie Wonder could have done better, I have noticed a rough feel to the other side of the cars paint surface, which looks to me like overspray. How do I get the overspray off the paint without damaging the finish. I plan on getting the car repainted this winter when its off the road anyways, but I need to drive it for now. PLEASE HELP! I have some Meguairs Scratch X, and I wonder if a Clay Bar would get it.
I haven't had any success with the clay bars removing overspray, plus it scratches really bad. If the paint is still relatively fresh (and maybe cheap) try using regular laquer thinner on a paper towel to get it off. Some people will tell you that it will take your paint off. It won't. Cars haven't been painted with laquer since the early 80's. It will take off your wax, though, so you'll have to re-wax those panels. Laquer thinner is great for getting off all the tar and crap that gets on the bottoms of your fenders and doors, too.
Ps wear gloves if you have them. It sucks to get it in a fresh cut or hangnail!

I am a heavy equipment mechanic. I build caterpillar eninges, some as tall as 8 feet. It's awesome. But neways after building them I have to paint them to finish the project. I paint in the garage, same as the one I store my '07 mustang in. So I pulled my car out, painted the engine, took a gallon of acrylic enamel, and had the shops exhuast fan running. I waited 4 hours after painting to pull my car in. Still had overspray! A good quality wax will take care of it!
