hey i dont know if im in the right thread but does any one have any tips on cleaning air filters ?......money's tight right now .....hehe

 

I purchased MAC's filter cleaner when i got my CAI. i just soak it in that for a while then rinse it off with water and let it air dry. You should let it dry completely and don't use compressed air. Then i just reoil with MAC's filter oil and its good as new.

 

do you have a paper filter or an after market? a stock replacement from your local auto parts store should be like 5 bucks...if you have an after market cleanable filter K&n has a cleaning kit which contains the cleaning solution and some oil for like 10 bucks

 

Ihave a mac air filter and went out and boughtthe cleaning kit it works real good i just hope i let it dry long enough when i put the oil on .......

about 250 psi compressed air (joke).............you can't clean a paper element, u r going to have to bite the bullet and spend the $10 my friend

 

yeah i was gonna say that i use compressed air on all of mine it makes them last about another 5 days.. then i go buy another

 

How long before an aftermarket needs cleaning?

about every second oil change depending on where you live, you'd be amazed at how much crap gets sucked up in there
