have you tried a clay bar, followed up by a good polish. if the water spots are etched in there, washing it and drying it isnt going to remove them. you are going to have to polish it. but after you polish it and remove the water spots, then washing and drying properly will keep them gone.

i personally like the clay bar kit from Clay Magic. i know you can pick it up at autozone around here for about $12. if you cant find that, then i would go with the mothers kit. but its going to be hard to find a good polish that will work by hand, especially locally. i'd try something like meguiars scratchX, or a 3M polish if you can find one. depending on how bad the spots are, you might have to step up to a more aggressive polish and use a machine.

i went and got a clay bar kit, got the one mequires makes, they only had one clay bar from mothers and someone had robbed the clay bar. but it really helped the water spots, it didnt completly remove them but id say it looks 75% better than before. it came with a small bottle of cleaner wax, i used that after the clay bar , then i used wax, looks alot better, not perfect but definatly better. they had the scrath x and also some polish from 3M, ill probably get them also and see what it does. the guy at the parts store has a black 88 gt and he said he had the same problem, said as soon as u wash it has to be dried with a chamois or an absorber. i appreciate your help

once you get rid of the old water spots, get yourself some Optimum No Rinse. you will never worry about water spots again.

like you, i was always fighting water spots on my black Mustang. i tried the No Rinse the other day, and let me tell you, that stuff is amazing. i actually enjoy washing my car again.
