Default Buffing/Repainting bumper costs?

So I've had my car for about 3 weeks now and she is completely flawless. OH! WAIT! I mean USED to be flawless! Some d!ckhead decided to back into my car today @ wal-mart. Even though I park the car WAY away from the door it was damaged when I came out. I wish I could have caught that son of a b!tch doing it. The damage is in the area of the EE part of SALEEN. One of the Es is going to need replacing cause its screwed up. There are no cracks in the bumper cover, just smudge marks and the damage to the lettering. Any recommendations on how I should go about getting this fixed or how much it may cost me? I'm just REALLY p!ssed and I want the car to look brand new again.

Walmart has security cameras maybe they can see who did it. It's worth a try.

If you parked way out in Timbucktoo, maybe it wasn't an accident. Jealously?

hey man i work at a grocery store and people hit my car even though i park out in neverland. the sad part is we dont have security cameras and my manager said there was nothing he could do. i threatened to quit and got a raise... i hate my job, but there is only so much a 16 yr old high school kid can do.

talk to the manager of that wal-mart and try to see the tapes. wal-mart is so big that they might just write you a check for a new bumper?

so i just got off the phone with wal-mart and he said that the cameras dont tape past the last row of cart-return things in the parking lot which i ALWAYS keep my distance from so thats out. the wal-mart is in a shopping center with sandwich shops, clothing stores, etc. so the parking area is enormous. i took my chamois out there last night and got most of the green paint off of the car. its not that bad. you cant really tell unless youre looking for it but im still getting it fixed. its just finish damage. no dents, no cracks. i think it can be buffed out. ill get back to you guys after i get a couple of estimates tomorrow.

i have access to a power buffer. ive buffed all kinds of **** out of my old black 5-liter. like i said...with the exception of the finish damage on the bumper the car is absolutely flawless. its far too nice to have amateur work done to its finish. im willing to pay the $50 to have the work done professionally. buff jobs can look great today but turn out looking like crap in a year unless you know what youre doing. besides those $40 buffers from sears are crap.

on another note...just as i suspected i have to order the entire SALEEN decal since i cant get hold of just one letter. that jerk backing into me is going to cost me nearly $100. next time i see somebody pull that stunt on anyone's car im going to write down their tag and give it to the guy they hit.

hey atlantic blue dont let people write you off just cause youre 16! especially when it comes to cars. i had a friend in high school that ran his own internet business. at 17 he made more money than the average teacher's salary at our school. just a thought. confidence is a good thing!

FYI if you do need your bumper repainted...I was quoted about $400 for prepping and repainting of my rear bumper after some lamo newbie driver in an SUV bumped my car while it was parked. I was lucky that a person walking by saw what happened and took the plate number. Got the cash and got the bumper fixed.

No cracks or distortion on the bumper, just nicks and a smudge....
