Default General paint question

I have a 95 cobra svt. The paint has obviously been repainted recently (~2-3 years ago) and whomever did it, did a HORRENDOUS job! It has bubbles, textures, huge runs, etc. The car is the color code of Rio Red.

I would like to get this repainted either way. My conflict resides in keeping it rio red or changing it to whatever color I want. Will changing the color lower the value of my car? If I do change the color, should I go with the only two other color options for that model?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think it will affect the value, but it will cost more to change colours. The door jams to be repainted etc are very labour intensive. If I were in your shoes, I'd have it done in the same colour if you like it. Take it to a reputable body shop and hear what they say.

it will effect the value because the paint that's on your car now corresponds with your VIN number...if you go to trade in your vehicle or sell it privately and when that person looks up your VIN they will wonder why it says red and your car is blue (or whatever you paint it)...not trying to talk you out of it, just letting you know

i plan on re-painting my car one day because i'll be keeping it...if you plan to sell or trade it, i would just paint it the same color it is now...if not, paint the car gold lol

good luck with whatever you decide

I don't think it'll alter the value, because either way its not the original paint.

In any case, I'd keep it the same color.

I would keep it the same color also, because as stated above, it would be very pricey to change colors because of all the extra work that goes with it.

Thanks

Red isn't a bad color.. well maybe when looked at by police it is..
I do plan on keeping the car for years but I'm thinking in terms of many years down the road if I planned to or possibly at a car show.
