Update...
I just continued to polish my Mustang. I used to Maguire's 2.0. It's looking pretty good! Using the orange pad, I think I have removed 99.9 of the micro scratches using my buffer (not the orbital). It's very close to where I want it to be now. I'll continue to buff the paint until it's, "perfect".
I have to warn ya (from personal experience).... when using a non-orbital, you have to be VERY VERY VERY VERY careful! The orbitals are user-friendly, but the non-orbitals are not. I already burned through two of my car's accessories (hood scoop and louver) after only brushing against them.
I had two problems... the first was stupid. My buffer/sander has a "key" that is used to remove the thing the buffer pads connect to. Well, they key was in my cupboard and I had NO clue what it was for... so I threw it away LOL. I ended up going to Harbor Freight and get a universal one that worked.
I was having problems finding pads that fit, so I ended up going to Home Depot and got some Velcro which I easily attached to the buffer... and all was good. Now I can buy pads that attach with Velcro.
Anyway... The reason I'm using the non-orbital buffer is because a while back, I got a $3,000 paint job for my cycle. While at the shop, I noticed that they were not using orbitals, but regular buffers. Mind you, this place was a professional paint shop so I figure, if they, in theory, only use the best stuff to shine the cars/cycles they paint, then this is what I should use. I just need to perfect how to use it.
Anyway, here's a picture of my buffer.
