69 gt scoop on a 66
The 69-70 scoop has been added to many 65-66 cars. There is no rubber or other gasket between the scoop and hood. There is a rubber flap inside the scoop, to keep it from collecting leaves, etcetera. This was usually removed the day after the car was delivered, but is available in reproduction. Your main problem will be the lights at the rear of the scoop. They require holes to be cut in the hood for clearance. The 68 CobraJet scoop is available in reproduction, and has no lights in it.
Thank you. I got the idea from my older brother. he is a old time stang dude. I have no problem cutting my freshly painted hood cuz i put a 1in carb spacer and after getting on the car really hard i now have a tiny little dent on the hood from the air filter. that is why i now need the scoop.
I cant stand to see the dent while im in the drivers seat. ughhghghgghg

Here's a post of mine with some scoop tips. I made mine functional. It's EZ. Good luck.

Please note the cutouts in the hood at the rear of the scoop opening for the turn-sig indicator lights.
Also, if you plan to use the turn sigs, they are usually sold separately from the scoop. I got mine from Sacramento Mustang.

Mustang Project now has the turn signal lights in a LED sequential setup available for $39.99. I don't know if your interested in having the turn signals but it's a nice alternative to the originals.
I know guys who could fix that, probably without damaging the paint.
Up or down, makes no difference. My wifes car got hit in a parking lot, dent about 4" round, with a slight high spot one side. All gone, now, no damage to paint.
