Default multi-function switch replacement help

Hi,
I am trying to replace the multi-function switch on a 98 mustang. I unscrewed the adjustment lever for the steering wheel, removed the 3 screws to the steering wheel shaft cover, but I cannot get the top or bottom pieces removed. I can't get the top past the plastic on the ignition switch and the bottom cover is stuck on the lower dash cover. How do I remove the plastic ignition switch cover (or do I need to) or do I remove the lower dash cover? I removed the two bolts on the bottom of the dash cover, but it appears to be attached at the top. Didn't want to force it too much and break it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bob

Default RE: multi-function switch replacement help

If the trim cover goes completely around the ign. switch, you will have to remove it to get the cover off.
