RE: V6 or V8?
if youre going by gas mileage...i have had both. my first car was an automatic 2001 V6. i got the same gas mileage...maybe even 1 or 2 mpg lower...that i get in my 5-speed 2003 GT. they look better, theyre faster, more fun to drive, gas mileage isnt bad...definitely get the GT.

GT's look better.
GT's look better.
My V6(and '62 Ford cause I like it a bunch[8D]:
Edge GT:
I'm not seeing enough of a difference there dude. Anyways, just test drive them and see. It isn't hard or too expensive, as a matter of fact) to make a V6 powered Edge Stang go fast. The blocks are strong and react to mods well. Same goes with the GTs. Basically, test 'em both, buy which one you want. There are very fast V6 Stangs out there in the world that would hand 50% of the GT guys on here their asses. But then again, the GT guys would hand 95% of the six shooter guys their asses too, so it just depends on what you want to do. (pssst.... get the GT [8D])

You could by a 05 GT off ebay, theres a few on there with the fact warrenty still good for the price of a new V6 pony car,and most are dealers selling them.

it's your money...but you won't regret the v8...i doubt you'd be happy witha 6er especially since you ride/rode crotch rockets.

V8.............duh
GT souds great, Great power & torq, Great handling, Looks a lot better. You don't give up much mpg on a 5 spd. Awsome to upgrade. And first off I have no problem with people owning a V6 but I have had them pull up next to me and rev it up to race. I have a V8 with flowmaster and after reving mine to about 5 1/2 G's he turned his blinker on and turned away scared wishing his was a V8. Personally I think that Ford did not do the Mustang much justice giving it anything less than a V8.

Agree! When I was looking, I couldnt understand the point of the v6 stangs. I know alot of chics that own v6 (my sister, my girlfriend- my dad bought one for my mom). Not that theres anything wrong with v6's... but I for one need the deep rumble of the v8, the torque, etc-- it is a muscle car. kind of like going to a car show and seeing a sharp looking mopar and it only having a v6 or the very small v8- a huge let down.... Good luck with your descision. Shouldnt really be a choice in my opinion though.

RE: V6 or V8?
v6's will always be v6's in the eyes of the insurance agents. I own a 2005 v6, partly because I would have had to waita little longer before I could afford the gt and also I wouldn't have been able to afford to modify the gt even if I waited. So you can either be one of those kids that buys a slower car and makes it faster, unique, and therefore "his/her" car. BTW, what kinda of car were you driving when you were 21? Oh, and as for the power, I have yet to be passed by any vehicle (except for a crotch rocket once, but I stayed right behind him). Maybe driving skill/***** counts for something?
Anywayze, to get back on track, I don't even have to take my car out of my driveway to get compliments on it and the only "GT" modification I have made to it is the grill/foglights (It doesn't look right without them). Basically just do what you want (as long as you don't tune up a F***ing pre-2006 civic)
