Dunno what year your car is, but this is a TSB from Ford concerning the 4.6L engine regarding the oil light and level okay symptom.

^ OIL - LOW OIL INDICATOR LAMP ILLUMINATION -
4.6L VEHICLES

FORD:
1996 MUSTANG

ISSUE:
The low oil level indicator lamp may illuminate when the oil level is in the acceptable range on the oil level indicator on some vehicles. This may be caused by the driver parking the vehicle on a downhill slope to the right.

ACTION:
In some situations, all that may be required is to advise the customer that parking on a slope may activate the low oil indicator lamp. In a unique situation when customer encounters uneven terrain on a regular basis, install a revised oil level indicator and adjust the engine fill capacity. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove and discard the existing oil level indicator.

2. Install the revised Oil Level Indicator (F6ZZ-6750-CA).

3. Clean the front driver's side valve cover and apply the unique oil fill quantity label included in the kit.

4. Apply a second oil fill label (included in the kit) to the inside front cover of the customer's Owner Guide.

5. Add the appropriate amount of engine oil to bring the engine oil level up to the MAX mark on the new oil level indicator. This will usually require an additional 0.5 L (1/2 quart).

Is your engine actually low or are you just adding it to get rid of that light? If it's low, you're burnin some oil. If not......be careful man......be careful.......
