Choosing the Right Tranny for my 95 Sixer

Choosing the Right Tranny for my 95 Sixer
Welp I have decided just to replace the stupid tranny, Im sure there is something ****ed with it because it has always eaten clutches even when I was driving it like an old woman. Its never felt as good as my friends manuals and never rode as smooth. The tranny is ok again, just broke a spring on my clutch disk. Im going to sell off the T5 with a disclaimer (Need to be ballanced and gone through) I might be able to score $300 off it or use it as a core exchance. Like seriosly guys, my clutch shouldnt have broken the other night, this is the 3rd clutch in what, 3 months now... This just isnt right and its not my driving, the first two clutches were babied to death!
Anyways, Any suggestions on what I should get 5 speed wise? I want to get something that can handle at least 500hp and the Tremec SD T5 can do 600 i think. Im looking for something with a decent gear ratio too.
I was thinking about a 6 speed conversion for a short milisecond but decided against it because i would have to change my Flywheel, change my starter, get a different clutch setup (unless its a 11" clutch as is, then I wouldnt need to change my flywheel or starter either) Of course the bellhousing and get a cusome driveshaft. Then I would have to mess with sensors going to the ECU and all this BS... Just doesnt seem to be worth the rewards, not to mention it sucks for 1/4 miles times unless your an insane shifter.
Thanks for the tips guys and gals.

Oh I was also wondering in what years did they start producing the T5 in the mustang coupled with an 11" clutch? Was that 1999? Or can they ALL take an 11" clutch? Just need some help here, thanks again!

Why do you need something that can handle 500 hp? I dont think there is any possible way your car can put out 500 HP and still be streetable (since it is a V6). If your planning to do a V8 swap, unless you are going to buy a different engine than came stock in the 95s anyway, I wouldnt bother.
Why pay 4000 Dollars for an engine, and 1500 for a trans, when you can just go get an entire 95 GT for like 6-8K?

Because that isnt the point. I want a good strong tranny that will last me a long *** time and will be able to handle that much in case I ever reach that goal. And $1500 for the tranny is shooting kinda high.

A brand new transmission, capable of handleing 500 + HP, will be something like a TKO or a 3550 (and I dont think the 3550 will handle it safely). They range from about 1300 to 1500 bucks.

Ya, im looking around, your right in the prices for performance trannies that seem to be reliable. There are some I have found that claim something around 600 torque for like $1000-1300 but its a T5 and I would think that would blow up at any given time and just LOCK like mine did.
A friend from SacStangs.com has a 98 T45 out of a cobra that had the interior burnt. Im going to buy that. Least it doesnt use that BS ATF fluid, get some REAL lubrication. ATF is so freakin thin, I hate it.
So at least I found my tranny for now, it will keep in in shape for a while. Im going to get my Aluminum 20lbs Driveshaft next, Auburn Pro and my 3.73 gears. I figure between those mods I can shave about 1-1.5 seconds off my track times... Actually get some freakin traction now!
When I get my suspension taken care of I should be able to shave a few more hundredths of a second off. Then Engine mods and lightening the car will be next.
Thanks for the help on everything, I will need it again in a few months after I get my buildup complete.
