What should i do just change the fluid and filter or take it up to the dealership anf have a trans flush and a fluid flter change??????

 

You can try that.

But if its too far gone you need a rebuild.AOD's arent exactly stout performers stock.They usually need a little support from the aftermarket to be reliable and abusable.

Take it to a reputable tranny shop and have them check it out to see how far the tranny is along and see if it needs rebuilt.It could be a band adjustment isall thats needed.There so many little things and parts that can make trannies do funky things.

Heres a good example i have fully built C4 with no kick down rod but i have a good vacuum source and a good performance modulator and if i gun the throttle it will down shift like it has a kick down but it doesnt.Theres so many little things that factor in.I suggest you take it to shop.Let them trouble shoot it.
