Anyone know of a company, perhaps, that sells a kit with which you can turn that fake intake on 99-03 hoods into a functioning one? Or...should I just whip out a saw?

 

buy a shaker hood/induction system (03/04 Mach 1)

 

You could go thru the efforts of cutting a hole funneling the air into the intake, but I don't think it's worth the effort, as the intake is not in a high pressure area of the hood. A waste of time I think, but knock yourself out.

 

i know a company makes a hood that does that but i have no idea what company it is. i saw one on someones car on these forums. i asked them and they couldnt remember the name. they were willing to sell it to me though because they wanted a different hood. so you should just search around on the interenet. you should find something

 

cervinis makes a ram air hood that does just that. it brings in air from the vents in the hood, and routes em to the air filter box.

 

A fender mount CAI will get you the same gains. In any case the effort would not be worth the results, you are only looking at a couple of hp
