89 mustang owner here. I thought I'd ask this here, because you guys would surely know.

My car got broken in to through the passenger window, and I found some replacement glass from a 79-86, not sure of the exact year. But I tried to install it and it didn't seem to fit. Aren't all the windows the same from 79-93?

 

make sure the track/rail didnt get bent or make sure all of the broken glass is out...

All the broken glass is out. Funny thing is, even with all the track and rail stuff disconnected, the glass won't go all the way up.

Anyways, a 79 window should work in a 89 right?

 

not sure, but call the local junkyard and ask them, they know what fits and what doesn't as that's how they make a living.

 

I got an anwser for ya, 87 to 93 will match up for ya man, Ford is weird on somethings, They like to make something different.

 

Well I went to the Ford Dealership and found out. The windows are the same from 83-93, but different from 79-82. I guess that would explain why it almost, but not quite fits. Thanks guys.
