Default Slack in clutch pedal

There is about an inch of play in my clutch pedal. What could be causing it? I was thinking the clutch quadrant being worn out, or maybe the clutch cable being stretched. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

Now is the play just being able to push it down without the clutch disengaging for that far or is the pedal like loose? If it's stretched or worn you're probably best off getting a new setup, BBK makes an adjustable quardrant and cable setup.
