Alright, here's what you do. Get a coupe, buy a targa top for it. Yes that's right, a FULL removable hardtop by JMS Products. Then you have the bet of both worlds. Still a hard top, then if you want the sun burning your head, take the top off and shove it in the trunk, and BAM a partial vertible. I'm actually getting one next year. I've already spent my 6000 for the year, lol. By the way, it's only $1695.00

And why would you ever roll either type? If you roll your mustang, you must be driving WAY too fast. These cars are fun, but don't kill yourself to having too much fun. Ok, father talk over, lol. And I'm not even a father!

Well less test this data out for size... I have a 95 gt convertible and my 2 mustang freinds have a 98 gt and a 92 lx with a motor swap for a gt-40, both coupes. One of which almost sold his to get a convertible after riding in mine with the top down and both of which ask to borrow my car at least 3 times week (just about every sunny day that i work). Girls... well then, everytime i go out in my car i get looks. I really need to get pictures up of it. Its really a shame that im faithful to my girlfreind, my car is really goin to waiste. I say convertible all the way unless your just goin to build a dragster. Then get a fox.

hard top!!
vert. is too heavy and too hard to make fast!
Your right that 200 lbs is really killing my cars performance. It really wasn't hard to make my car faster, that 200 pound difference can easily be overtaken by a good driver.

first of all there are 7 sec verts...but i'd get a fox body coupe for a strictly race car. now a "heavy" fox body vert is still lighter than a 03-4 cobra coupe and is WAY lighter than the new gt500. check my slip out. that was with only 2 passes so no time to get better (no cage and mid 10s @ 138 = asked to park it) and 100whp less in my street legal fox vert. it's not my dd but it could be it's just expensive and not practical.

stang2000 i saw a guy with a red new edge with the targa top driving around and it looked very sweet...but they certainly add a good amount of weight with reinforcements as well.

I agree with you, I was being sarcastic. It just seems like alot of people say that the verts are SO much slower when the truth is, it really doesnt make much of a difference. I have to admit, I don't really like the look of my car from the outside when the top is up, but I love having the top down.
