110 Octaine
Ok I want to find out if it is safe for my car to run pure 110 octaine gas, I am probally not going to do it but I am still curious. Some say you will burn up valves, but it is my understanding that the higher the octaine the lower the burning temp , it just burns faster. Second because 110 has lead in it it is supposed to mess with your cats but I dont have any. So, I don't see why I couldent use pure 110 but I wanted to make sure I wasent missing anything that could mess up my car.

If your engine is stock, then you'd be totally flushing $'s down the toilet by running gas that's higher octane than it needs. Really. You won't get any more power from 110 than you're getting from 89. And yeah, prolonged use of 110 will probably screw up your engine in the long run.. Why do you ask?

Higher octane fuel doesn't burn faster, slower,or cleaner. It just resists detonating better than fuel without the extra additives. The extra additives will eventually build-up on your intake and exhaust valves, not to mention the combustion chambers and spark plugs.
Unless your car has mods that require higher octane you are indeed wasting money by running higher octane fuel.If you have no mods abd the engine pings, there is something wrong with the engine that needs attention.Usually dirty injectors causing a lean condition and/or carbon build up in the combustion chambers.
To clean this out you can use a fine mist of water sprayed into the intake and the water will flash to steam, cleaning out the carbon. It's a slow process but it works.

You could retune your car to run on the 110 np. Matter of fact, if you wanted, you could get pretty aggressive with the timing and make quite a few more ponies. But 110 is so expensive, you'd be better off doing a dry shot of N20 for the added power.

I've seen it posted on here before, high octane resulting in sick horsepower or having any real benefit is a ricer myth. Stock vehicles dont benefit at all unless the factory calls for higher octane and even then you can get away just fine with straight 87.

Well I don't have a stock car and if I put in 87 it dosent run right, I usally put in 93 or higher. It runs in the low 13's. The reason I posted this question is because I wanted to see if it would hurt my motor, not how much horsepower I could gain. When I do get some 110 it is just going to be 1 or 2 gallons mixed with a full tank of gas. I am mostly doing it for the smell because burned 110 is one of my favroit smells.

RE: 110 Octaine
Hell ya 110 smells so good. Last year there where times that Torco 110 was cheaper or at the same price as Premium. This was because in Michigan there are no Road taxes on racing fuel. And is it illegal to pump it directly into your car so you have to pump it into a gas container and than dump it your car at home. So what I'm saying is I do it every great once in a while and I have had no problems I haven't gone over 5 gallons at a time though. I don't give a #$%^ what people say my car runs alot better on a mix of Premium and 110
