Default 8.8 Rear end ratio

Can someone identify the ratio on this rear end?
Is it a POSI?
Thanks

if you spin the pinion and count how many times the axles rotate, you can get a rough idea of what gears you have (4.10's=4 rotations, 3.73=3 3/4 rotations etc). i believe you can tell it's posi if you spin one axle and the other axle spins the same direction

3L73 means 3.73 ratio, limited slip

If that is a 8.8 rearend out of a Mustang, that is not a 3.73 rear. No Mustang came stock with 3.73 gears. The older autos had 2.73 gears in them.

i'm guessing it's from a f150 or 250 w/ the towing package (not really guessing, i'd bet my next paycheck)

anyways, seems to be a 3.73 from those 2 digits.

if it happens to be from a stang you have, check the door tag...under "ax" m=2.73 , z=3.08 , and e=3.27 (aod only)
