Default heads swap on 98 gt

ok, so many people have said they are doing a "PI heads swap" on their motor. are thyey changing the piston heads or what? and if so do you have to take the engine out of the car and tear it all apart?

There's been several posts devoted to this topic and there is even a webpage with the whole procedure laid out for you here:

The answer to your question is yes and no. Yes your replacing your cylinder heads, but no no you don't have to take the engine out of your car.

No you don't HAVE to take the engine out, but it's a very good idea because it's a real bitch to do it with the engine in the car, and it will take a lot longer.

i am in the process of doing it right now i am working on the head and getting the parts rounded up i am also working on a 98 gt yes the heads are replaced that mean all that isn't taken apart is the block the whole front of the engine has to come off as well as the top end to replaced the heads not sure but i done head gaskets on 4.6l serval time i perfer to leave it in the car but it is argued removing the engine is easier either way it take almost all day maybe more due to lack of tools and experence you also have to change the intake and some other small items i would replaced cams at this time too checke on ebay there is uasally a kit for sale on there and they include the ford part #S for every piece needed hop this helps some
